So I submitted my story about the events before my mom died and the events after and I won. I get a $50 gift certificate to the campus bookstore (that goes a long way), and the English department will use my narrative as a teaching tool, publish it somewhere, and do what they want with it.

 

Now, this wouldn't be such a big deal if it was only for people in English 101 - but this contest was every one from Freshman to Grad Student who have ever taken an English class. Soo.... damn. :: brushes dust off shoulders::
